Over the years, I have written several plays. Many have been published in anthologies or theatre-related magazines. However, demand for drama publications has never been exciting, especially Bengali drama. Only those who are interested in producing plays look for new dramas. Unfortunately, that number is relatively low. Most theatre producers and directors try to stage successful pre-produced plays that are well-known to the audience. This lack of demand for drama books has discouraged the publishers from investing in playwrights unless they are extremely popular. A few of the new playwrights who manage to get their collection of plays published (with special financial arrangements with the publisher) are typically left with a huge stock of unsold books in their warehouse. Several times, people who look for play collections of their favorite playwrights are disappointed by publishers who fail to find any copies of the book in their stock.
With this problem in view, I have decided to make my plays (most of them) available to theatre lovers in PDF form for FREE. If you’d like to read one of my plays, just register and login to this site and download the PDF file.
